FAQ
Does converting change dimensions?
No — the pixel dimensions stay identical, only the encoding changes. Use the Image Resizer to change size.
What happens to transparency in JPEG?
The tool paints a white backdrop before encoding, so transparent areas do not turn black. Keep PNG or WebP if you need alpha.
What if WebP conversion fails?
Some browsers cannot encode WebP; the tool then outputs PNG and reports the actual format under 'Output type'.
Why did the file get bigger?
PNG is lossless, so converting a JPEG to PNG usually grows it. For smaller files use WebP or JPEG with lower quality.
