FAQ

How are the dominant colours computed?

The image is scaled to 100×100, each pixel is binned by 16-level quantisation per channel, buckets are counted and sorted, and the top six are shown. Each swatch is rebuilt from the true average of the pixels in its bucket, not the quantised centre.

Is pixel picking accurate?

Yes. The preview canvas scales coordinates back to image space, so you get exactly the pixel you clicked, and the panel reports the column and row for verification.

Why can't it read a cross-origin image?

Browser security forbids reading pixels from a cross-origin image unless the host opts in. Save the file locally and use the file picker — accuracy is identical.

How do I copy a value?

Click 'Copy value' to copy the currently selected HEX, or click any swatch to copy that swatch's HEX and make it the current colour.
