UUID Generator
Free UUID generator: create 1 to 100 UUID v4 values at once, with uppercase, hyphen-free and brace-wrapped options, using browser-grade cryptographic randomness.
How to Use
- Choose a count
Pick how many you need, from 1 to 100; the default is 5.
- Set the format
Tick uppercase, hyphen-free or braces as needed — the list regenerates immediately.
- Copy and use
Click Copy all to take the whole batch and paste it straight into code or a database.
FAQ
Can UUID v4 collide?
Version 4 carries 122 random bits, so collisions are vanishingly unlikely. Even generating a billion per second for a century leaves a negligible chance — treat them as unique in practice.
Can I use UUIDs as database primary keys?
Yes, that is one of the most common uses. Note that random UUIDs fragment clustered indexes on writes; on MySQL consider sequential UUIDs or a BIGINT auto-increment instead.
Why cryptographic randomness?
Plain Math.random is predictable, so IDs built from it can be guessed, leading to authorisation bypasses. crypto.getRandomValues draws from system entropy and is unpredictable.
Does removing hyphens affect uniqueness?
No. Hyphens are display formatting only; the 32 hexadecimal characters — and therefore the uniqueness — stay exactly the same.
