Random Password Generator
Generate strong random passwords free, customize length and character sets, and check the strength of existing passwords. Everything runs locally.
How to Use
- Configure the password
Drag the length slider (4-64 characters), choose the character sets to include (uppercase, lowercase, digits, symbols), and optionally exclude look-alike characters.
- Generate and copy
Click Generate to get several candidates. Click any row to copy it, or copy all of them at once.
- Check an existing password
Switch to the Strength tab, paste a password and review its entropy, character set size and estimated brute-force time.
FAQ
Are the generated passwords secure?
Yes. They are produced with the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), not a plain random function, and never leave your device.
How long should a password be?
At least 12 characters for ordinary accounts and 16 or more for important ones such as email, payments or admin panels. Length matters more than complexity — every extra character dramatically increases the cost of cracking.
What are look-alike characters?
Characters such as lowercase l, digit 1, uppercase I, digit 0 and uppercase o that resemble each other. Excluding them avoids transcription and recognition mistakes.
How do I check whether a password is strong?
Switch to the Strength tab and paste the password. The tool computes its entropy from the character set and length, and estimates the brute-force time required.
