Find and Replace
Find and replace with regular expressions, ignore case, whole-word matching, and $1 $2 group references in the replacement.
How to Use
- Fill in the fields
Left is what to find, right is what to put there, and the text area holds the content.
- Tick what you need
Case variants only: ignore case. Whole words only: whole word. Batch restructuring: regular expressions plus group references.
- Check the count
The stat line says how many places were replaced — a wrong count means the wrong mode. Copy the result once it matches.
FAQ
How do $1 and $2 work?
Turn on regular expressions and define groups with parentheses — (\d{4})-(\d{2})-(\d{2}) splits 2026-10-30 into three groups, and a replacement of $1年$2月$3日 gives 2026年10月30日. Group numbers start at 1.
Why does $1 do nothing in plain text mode?
Plain mode does not recognise groups, so $1 is copied literally. To use group references you need both the regular expression switch and the group-reference switch turned on.
Is whole-word matching useful for Chinese?
Barely. It relies on the English word-boundary rule \b, and Chinese characters have no boundaries, so abc inside 中文abc文 still gets replaced. For Chinese, use a regex character class to constrain the match.
Can I replace several things at once?
This version handles one find-replace pair at a time, but you can copy the result back into the input and run another pass. Order matters, so start with the most specific and longest rule.
