FAQ
What does 'five insurances and one fund' include?
Pension, medical, unemployment, work-injury and maternity insurance, plus the housing fund. Pension, medical, unemployment and the housing fund are shared by employee and employer; injury and maternity are fully employer-paid.
How is the contribution base set?
It is normally your average monthly salary from the previous year, clamped between a local minimum and maximum. If your salary is below the floor you pay on the floor; above the cap you pay on the cap.
Is the housing fund rate fixed?
No. Each city allows a range (usually 5%-12%) and the employee and employer contribute at the same rate. This tool uses 12% as a common default — check what your employer reports.
Why do ratios differ so much between cities?
Social insurance is administered locally. Economic conditions and fund balances differ, so ratios and base caps vary. The values here are typical; refer to your local HR bureau for exact figures.
